Student Council
 

The Student Council   

Our Student Council Currently Consists of Five Executive Members, Ten Class Representatives, Five Members at Large, and One Staff Advisor. Our student council meets on a weekly basis. The  Executive Members meet separately at least 24 hours before every general meeting so that a agenda can be made for the meeting. 

General Meetings

  • Call to Order

This is when the president officially starts the meeting.
  • Roll Call

A Quorum must be met of more then 50% of all Class Representatives plus the President,  two Executive Members and the Staff advisor and or his/her stand in. 
  • Minutes

A review of all things completed in the previous meeting.
  • Treasurer's Report 

A Report telling how much the Student Council does or does not have. 
  • Social Directors Report (If Necessary) 

Summary of any Student Council activity since the previous meeting on how that activity went, and if it was a success or not.
  • Old Business

Any unresolved business from previous meetings is discussed. 
  • New Business

Any new business that has arisen is discussed.
  • General Concerns / Discussion

Where members of the council get a chance to talk about something that was not on the agenda or ask to get things put on the agenda for the next meeting. 
  • Adjournment

This is when the meeting ends.

 Informal Meeting

There are also informal meetings where there is a meeting but  regular parliamentary procedure is not followed.

The Constitution

The Student Council Constitution tells how the student council is to be operated. The Constitution is the first order of business every year before the Student Council year commences. The Constitution has to be ratified by the council. If there are changes needed then the constitution must be amended.  When the changes are made then the constitution is ratified.
